June 17th 2010. (Gordon knocks on door. Waits a few seconds. Then turns door knob to open door. Says next line.) Elizabeth... (Elizabeth jumps up and out of bed while saying next line simultaneously.) OH NO!! AM I LATE FOR WORK!?!?
Yeah apparently I fell asleep right after talking to my family back in Texas the night prior. Not good because I fell asleep on my phone...which doubles as my alarm clock. The good thing was that I was not late but I was also not up as early as I had planned. I quickly got myself showered, clothed, and books gathered then we headed to the office. I am so glad I laid out and ironed my clothes the night before instead of the morning of.
That morning my uncle also took me to a radio show that he sponsors. This radio show is talk radio. They talk to CEOs and presidents of companys and other successful people in the business world. I was basically a shadow this time but they say next time they are going to put me to work. I have no idea what they will have me do. I'm kind of excited about it! Here I am wanting to go into audio engineering as a career and I am already getting experience with a radio broadcast! I was so thrilled! On top of that I took a look at their equipment set up and was actually thinking up ways to improve the system! I didn't know I was as knowledgeable as that. Uncle Gordon says that they would probably welcome any suggestions I might have to improve the show. The cool thing about the show is that it is growing in popularity in the area and that they don't just talk about the interviewees company, success, or future, they talk about that persons childhood, college years, as well as their first job experiences. I found this fascinating partly because the first woman they interviewed was one of eight children. So her family has my family beat by one ;)
Later on in the evening we went to meet Client #1 (Name obviously changed to prevent identity theft. Said person will from hence forth be referred to as Client #1). Client #1 turned out to be a gentleman with spunk and wit similar to mine. We met Client #1 at a restaurant called Morton's. Gordon, Client #1, and I all ordered the same thing. Beef tomato salad, steak, baked potato, and giant asparagus. We enjoyed our meal together and joked on through the night. Oh and did I mention it was also Client #1's birthday! He turned 70! I would have to say that it was a pleasure to meet Client #1 and I would be delighted to be in his company again.
After parting ways Gordon and I headed to his car. Then he says, "Would you like to drive home Elizabeth?" First thing to my mind is, Oh God that would be horrendous if I crashed his Lincoln MKZ. I begged and pleaded to have a rain check and he insists that I drive home. Great... There apparently was no way out of it. I have only ever driven a van before so this was definitely a new experience. So for this day in my head I had a check list of new experiences. 1. Late for work, 2. Went to a radio show, 3. Ate at a high class restaurant, 4. Drove a car, and 5. Crashed a really, really, really, nice car.
Ok I got home in one piece and Gordon said I wasn't a bad driver. Mission accomplished:)

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's Off To Work We Go:)
This was my first day of work. I am actually really late writing this... :/ Therefor it isn't really fresh in my mind. Rats...
First thing that happened that morning was I woke up early to get ready and eat breakfast. Except for I couldn't figure out how to use his shower. I felt especially blond at that moment. So I stalled. I tried to figure out the shower, I waited for it to maybe heat up, I walked up and down his multiple flights of stairs to waste time and maybe it would heat up. It apparently hated me because it definitely wasn't being cooperative. Turns out it wasn't me after all but that it didn't have hot water hooked up to it yet :) Too bad I didn't think for myself to just go use another bathroom. I got dressed all nice and went into work with my Uncle Gordon. Emily really liked my dress. :) Today was actually probably the most uneventful so far probably because it was the first day and all. I ate a salad for lunch, drank chai tea, filled out a bit of paperwork before I was able to actually work there. That ate up most of the day actually. God bless Ms. Bonnie and Ms. Emily for taking so much time to basically lead me by the hand with all that stuff. They were very patient and kind. :) Basically what Ms. Bonnie had me do was fill out an application, something with the employment files, and get my bank info for direct deposit.
After Uncle Gordon finished with work, we went home and changed into normal clothes. Then he decided we were going to some place... That was really all I knew was that it was some place because he wouldn't tell me where. We drove and drove under all the glorious tall trees that form a tunnel around the roads and streets till we got to a parking lot. We got out and assembled the camera. So it was apparently a picture taking worthy subject. He started walking to the some place. I followed with tripod in hand. We walked for a little bit and I began to hear a loud, rushing noise, almost like wind. We climb a boulder and there is the Great Falls sprawled out before me in a panoramic view. We were on the Virginia side looking toward Maryland with the Potomac River in between. We were right in front of the rapids on an overlook. So we took several photographs of the river and the kayakers and the wildlife. I picked leaves and flowers to press as well.
Like I said. This was a lazy day. What will we do tomorrow I wonder. :)

Trip To Washington D.C.!!
My Uncle Gordon and I left Texas on June 15th out of Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport. This is the first time I have been on a plane without any of my immediate family! It took us three hours to get to Dulles Airport in Virginia. I thought it would be longer to tell you the truth. After we got his car we went to his office and he introduced me to all of his staff. Emily seems really sweet :) and Bonnie makes me smile, and Tim has been really nice to me. They all have been nice to me really!
For dinner we ate at a place called Coastal Flats. I ate the pecan encrusted trout....I still have some in my fridge at home. It was really good:) And I absolutely had to try the bread because Emily said I had to!
After that we went to The Giant (that's a grocery store) and CVS. I had to get a straight iron for my hair. We got food too. Apparently I have to teach my uncle how to cook some easy impressive meals:) Think I can do it?
After we got to his house I called my family. talked to my mom and dad and all of my siblings. My 5 year old sister asked me where I was over the phone and I said that I was in Virginia with Uncle Gordon and she burst into tears :( It made me sad to hear her cry but at the same time it was kinda cute and funny that she was so distraught. Then we came home and I went to bed. This is the first time since I was like a baby that I have had my own room and had an over abundance of space. And it is so quiet without my siblings or Dorothy talking in her sleep:)

Everyone Cried At My Graduation Party
Ok. Due to the fact that this is my first post and I just made this blog yesterday I am going to talk in brief about the past week. In the future however I want to try to update once a day or every other day.The day of my graduation was actually June 5th but we didn't have a graduation reception till June 13th. It was so great to see all my family! Some of them traveled from far away and others made a shorter trek across Texas. I got to see my aunts and uncles, my cousins, my grandpa, and all the second cousins too:) I am so, so, so, glad that we had fajitas instead of the original plan of BBQ. It was such a blast to see everyone! My dad opened the floor up for people to say something about me and how we met or how we impacted each others lives. When my dad spoke he cried then my little sister Margaret wanted to say something too which just made everyone else cry some more. Then as my dad was about to close the floor a woman who I didn't know stepped up to say a few words. I had no idea who this lady was. All I knew was that she was there and worked with the Bell County Youth Fair (where I have been a participant for years now). She was there to tell me that I had received the Bell County Youth Fair and Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship!!! Boy is that a mouth full! But I was so shocked and surprised when she announced it! Then later I found out that my mom and dad already knew about it and that it was extremely hard for them to keep it a secret from me. So the first day of being graduated was a fabulous one. I know I am very blessed to have these people in my life and all of them have been wonderful to me. And as of that day I had acquired $15,300 in scholarships :)
