With a Spoonful of Sugar :)

Today is the day we go to see Mary Poppins at the Kennedy Center! As far as I can remember the work day was typical and uneventful. We left work with time to eat and make it to the Kennedy Center in case of traffic. There are too many twisty roads in DC and they are hard to navigate.

We made it there in time and picked up our tickets and found our seat with the help of the usher. Then it started...Burt! It had all the normal characters and a few extra ones, all the same songs plus a few more, and a whole dance dedicated to supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! Burt walked up the wall in "Step in Time" and Mary Poppins flew over the stage at the end! Gordon was not expecting it to be as good as it was and he really liked it too. At the end we went to a gift shop that was selling things from the show. They had three different shirts, the Mary Poppins umbrella, and a few book, and the program. I bought a shirt that had supercalifragilisticexpialidocious on it and a program. I think if we go see another play we will go see Lord of the Rings: A One Man Act which just sounds so awesome and funny. :D

Can You Hear Me Now? How Bout Now? Good! :)

Today had an epicness about it. It all started when I found out we were going to get my phone. It was in Maryland due to me leaving it on the D.C Metro Railway and loosing it on the 4th of July. Might I add that it was not all my fault because I would not have lost it if Gordon and I hadn't forgotten the camera tripods and had to go back to get them which is when I also forgot my phone.

Bonnie was nice enough to take me to retrieve it from the Metro Lost and Found located about two hours away round trip. She is a blessing in so many ways and this is only one of them. I not wanting to waste the whole trip just sitting brought along the Bernhardt Wealth Management Newsletter envelopes and began putting stamps on them. Bonnie and I had wonderful conversations on this little adventure.

When I finally filled everything out and they gave me my phone back I tried to call mom. I had asked her a couple of days earlier if she would re-activate it after I knew where it was. ...My phone didn't work. :( I got this crazed robot voice saying I was unauthorized to call this number or something. What a snob robot. So I put it in my pocket and we headed home. I tried texting. It worked!! I asked my mom if she had activated it yet and she said that she actually did it about five minutes ago. So I called her really quick.

We got back to the office where everyone was really busy getting ready for meetings in the afternoon. So I went about my normal duties. And when it neared 6:30 I started bugging Uncle Gordon about going home early and riding his bike around the neighborhood. To which he finally consented nearer to 7:00. I rushed in the house, changed really fast, and rode around the blocks a few times. When I was done riding, at about 8:15 I drove into the street, parked the bike, and walked up to the house to open the door. ... But my key wouldn't turn... Try as I might to turn the key and re-insert it again, it just wouldn't turn. So I think, "Gordon! You gave me a phony key on purpose!" So I rang the doorbell. And to my surprise a woman of the continent of Asia opened the door. I immediately knew what I had done! I apologized frantically and said I must have come to the wrong house and that all the houses looked the same. She laughed and said something like, "That's alright. That key wouldn't have opened the door anyway. So no harm done." What a relief she wasn't upset!! Upon leaving her porch I remembered that Gordon lives were two little neighborhoods right next to each other looked exactly the same. I had picked the wrong neighborhood and the wrong house! When I got back home I told Gordon all about it between fits of hysterical laughter that looked to creep him out a little bit and when he finally understood he thought it was funny also. :D

Then we watched an episode of Quantum Leap and I went to bed. :)

The Go Getter

Today was weird. Specifically because Emily and Bonnie are still on vacation. I don't have them here to constantly replenish my list of tasks to do and I don't have them here to talk to. On one hand I felt like I was getting more done the past two day symply because my list of things to do wasn't depleating and growing at the same time, but on the other hand this might have just been an illusion in my mind and I actually wasn't getting more things done. This could potentially be hazardous! What if while Bonnie and Emily are gone I slack off!? What if I disapoint them on there return!? The presure is unbearable! I can't stand it! Then again this could all be in my head too... One thing I have been trying to be better about is The Daily Progress Log. Which in a nutshell means I have to right my thoughts on the day at the end of the day. Sort of a work diary. I failed at this my first two weeks because I forgot about it as it had the negative idea to never enter my mind >:(

Gordon actually had meetings yesterday so Tim and I were at the office alone. We chatted a little bit and I learned that he sews clothing and things. Which I wouldn't have pegged him as having that skill. Never in a million years. He told me about his kids and mountain climbing and I showed him a picture of my family. So I feel that I got to know Tim a little bit better yesterday. Which is good. :)

For those of you who didn't read it first on my facebook. I lot my phone on July 4th on the Metro Railways System to Washington D.C. Yeah it was oh so smooth of me. Gordon was very optimistic that I would get it back though...which I am going to get it today because they did find it!! I shared the news at the Bible study I have been going to for two weeks now when we talked about our week. Esther, the girl I met last week was there again. I feel like she is supposed to be in my life for something and I am instantly drawn to her personality. She is superb at making prayer sound so poetic and meaningful which I feel I would like to learn. We actually broke up into three or four prayer request groups which worked better than I thought it would. Ending the night my whole group walked out together to our cars and parted ways.

When I got home I got home at around 10:00, I got ready for bed and stayed up till 11:00 reading The Go Getter. It was a pretty entertaining book and I liked it, and it was less then 50 pages. I wrote some notes on it and went to bed. :)

I'm All Alone... :(

Bonnie, Emily and Tim have all left me... alone with Uncle Gordon. It is the first time that they haven't been here to hold my hand and tell me how to do things...and also give random tasks that come up during the day. Which means that the only one contributing to my "To Do" list during the day is Uncle Gordon. And he doesn't add a whole lot. Not to mention he was gone and left me alone at the office for some of today and he gave me a key. So I feel pretty good and like I have accomplished more today.

I think we are also going to go buy some leather ballet flats for me that I found yesterday while on my thorough adventure in the mall where I probably spent too much money.

Right now I am anxiously awaiting the return of Emily and Bonnie and also Tim so that I can have an overflowing "To Do" list again. I miss them.
