Somebody's Baby Doll:)

The weekend!! My first weekend in Washington D.C. with my uncle!

I like to shop and I like clothes...but I wouldn't consider myself to be a girly girl. I mean, I can clean up pretty nice... I think...but by no means a girly girl. So today I received my graduation present :) We went shopping! Awhile ago my uncle had asked me what I wanted for a graduation present and I said I wanted a legitimate business suit. Not like off the rack at JC Penny but like a tailored, feminine, pimpin, women's suit :) Yes I said pimpin. We went to Potomac Mills Outlet Mall where we met with Ms. Kendra McDougal. My uncle said she was good at making people look good or in other words she could look at me and say what colors looked good with my complexion, body type, and face shape. She was there to help me pick out business professional clothing. I can tell you that when my uncle told me she was coming I was a little skeptical at first. But as it turns out we got along really well and she did pick some things out that I normally wouldn't have given a second glance that I turned out to like and it might have been a little awkward if she hadn't been there. I mean imagine my uncle and I going shopping and me walking out of the dressing room to show him or get his thoughts... Yeah I am glad she came. So I tried on several options and we ruled out some as soon as I tried them on. Others were better than I expected. I felt like somebody's baby doll. Being dressed up and what to wear picked out for me. :)

So later my uncle asked me if I wanted to get a tattoo or a piercing and I said most definitely not. He pressed the issue and said I was 18, I could do it, why not? I told his suit wearing professional self that if he did it, I would....He dropped the subject ;) He was just joking anyway.

That afternoon and into the evening we went to Gunston Hall, George Mason's house. Where we took lots of pictures and walked around the grounds. There was also this kid touring the same time we did and his name was Christian. He kept wanting to walk up and down the hill at the back of the property. I felt bad for him because he was just being adventurous. So here is to Christian, may your so called ornery sense be seen as curiosity. Someday you will be able to pick where you explore and where you feet and legs take you, but you will always be somebody's baby doll:)

Baby Doll is a song from the 20's 0r 30's (don't know which :) http://blueslyrics.tripod.com/lyrics/bessie_smith/baby_doll.htm
