Radio...Lights, Camera, Action Not Applicable:)

June 17th 2010. (Gordon knocks on door. Waits a few seconds. Then turns door knob to open door. Says next line.) Elizabeth... (Elizabeth jumps up and out of bed while saying next line simultaneously.) OH NO!! AM I LATE FOR WORK!?!?

Yeah apparently I fell asleep right after talking to my family back in Texas the night prior. Not good because I fell asleep on my phone...which doubles as my alarm clock. The good thing was that I was not late but I was also not up as early as I had planned. I quickly got myself showered, clothed, and books gathered then we headed to the office. I am so glad I laid out and ironed my clothes the night before instead of the morning of.

That morning my uncle also took me to a radio show that he sponsors. This radio show is talk radio. They talk to CEOs and presidents of companys and other successful people in the business world. I was basically a shadow this time but they say next time they are going to put me to work. I have no idea what they will have me do. I'm kind of excited about it! Here I am wanting to go into audio engineering as a career and I am already getting experience with a radio broadcast! I was so thrilled! On top of that I took a look at their equipment set up and was actually thinking up ways to improve the system! I didn't know I was as knowledgeable as that. Uncle Gordon says that they would probably welcome any suggestions I might have to improve the show. The cool thing about the show is that it is growing in popularity in the area and that they don't just talk about the interviewees company, success, or future, they talk about that persons childhood, college years, as well as their first job experiences. I found this fascinating partly because the first woman they interviewed was one of eight children. So her family has my family beat by one ;)

Later on in the evening we went to meet Client #1 (Name obviously changed to prevent identity theft. Said person will from hence forth be referred to as Client #1). Client #1 turned out to be a gentleman with spunk and wit similar to mine. We met Client #1 at a restaurant called Morton's. Gordon, Client #1, and I all ordered the same thing. Beef tomato salad, steak, baked potato, and giant asparagus. We enjoyed our meal together and joked on through the night. Oh and did I mention it was also Client #1's birthday! He turned 70! I would have to say that it was a pleasure to meet Client #1 and I would be delighted to be in his company again.

After parting ways Gordon and I headed to his car. Then he says, "Would you like to drive home Elizabeth?" First thing to my mind is, Oh God that would be horrendous if I crashed his Lincoln MKZ. I begged and pleaded to have a rain check and he insists that I drive home. Great... There apparently was no way out of it. I have only ever driven a van before so this was definitely a new experience. So for this day in my head I had a check list of new experiences. 1. Late for work, 2. Went to a radio show, 3. Ate at a high class restaurant, 4. Drove a car, and 5. Crashed a really, really, really, nice car.

Ok I got home in one piece and Gordon said I wasn't a bad driver. Mission accomplished:)
